Our first work of Interactive Fiction, “The Awakening” is currently being ported to a new Interactive Fiction Engine: Elm Story Engine. Originally, designed in Twine, I feel that Elm Story Engine will offer the reader a more in-depth and immersive experience. Stay tuned for more information on where to find “The Awakening” once the port is complete!

You’ve played this scenario out at least a thousand times over, as you race up the stairs, your mind begins to wander. You’re sitting on the balcony of your best friend’s apartment, the smell of freshly lit charcoal lingers on the cool autumn air. He tosses you a bag of thawed-out hamburgers.

“So, where would you go, what would you do? What would your contingency plan be?”

That was just three weeks ago. You are now standing in your room, frantically throwing open the door to your closet.

“It’s simple”, you say, as you toss a few burgers on the grill, and crack the top of your beer. “I’d have my bug-out bag ready to go, and would head to the nearest Big Box store, for supplies”.

It was a good night full of laughter and stories.

You’re standing in front of your closet, digging through old clothes, and boxes that you still haven’t unpacked from moving in 5 years ago. You finally find what you are looking for, a beat-up empty backpack you haven’t used in years. “Some Bug out Bag”, you mutter and you take off down the stairs.
